SRP Environmental is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as an Environmental Data Coordinator, a full-time position, to support our environmental services division in Gastonia, NC. This position will report to and work under the direct supervision of a professional engineer.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Compiling, evaluating, and analyzing environmental data.
- Assist with the preparation of thorough and accurate reports and other technical documents for client and agency submittal.
- Conduct environmental monitoring, including the collection of soil, surface water, sediment, groundwater, and waste material samples with high quality and minimal supervision.
- Conduct environmental surveys pertaining to potential health and environmental hazards, including Phase I & Phase II environmental site assessments.
- Calibrate and maintain sampling and monitoring equipment in operational conditions.
- Complete detailed project field notes that document site conditions and observations, health and safety issues, field instrument calibration, subcontractor activities, and completion of assigned work scope.
- Ability to fill out Chain of Custody forms, ship samples as required.
- Utilize professional and interpersonal skills to maintain communication and work effectively with clients, colleagues, managers and vendors.
- Follow basic safety requirements and site-specific client safety requirements.
- Provide support within the Environmental Division and perform other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- General travel: 60% office work, 40% outside fieldwork
- Overnight travel: 20%
- Office Location: Gastonia, North Carolina with travel primarily in North & South Carolina. Some travel may be required within the Southeastern Region and in other parts of the US.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
Qualifications and Educational Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Science, Engineering or similar
- Prior experience in data analysis and report writing, 2-3 years preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft applications (Word/Excel/Outlook) and Gmail
- AutoCAD experience is preferred, but not required
- Strong attention to detail
- Prior environmental testing knowledge, related internship or work experience is preferred, but not required
- Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
